Bangkok – Lisa Manoban “Lilifilm” fame has set the streets of Yaowarat ablaze with the release of her electrifying new music video, “ROCKSTAR.” The video, a love letter to Lisa’s Thai heritage, boasts over 46 million views on YouTube and counting, featuring vibrant local scenery and a cast of talented Thai dancers and actors. The buzz surrounding the video has reached fever pitch, with celebrities, politicians, and even luxury brands clamoring to join the online frenzy.
On June 29th, one of the MV’s stars, Phanu Tangjai, took to Facebook to share his own surreal experience on set with the global superstar.
”Talk about a brush with good karma!” began Phanu, a heavily-tattooed model, alongside a photo of himself looking effortlessly cool. He described his journey from Phitsanulok to Bangkok, a five-to-six hour trek, admitting he had little knowledge of the project details.
”I arrived at this massive, high-production set, bustling with crew members,” he wrote, recalling his initial awe. “I started to get a bit nervous, seeing everyone working tirelessly, and a steady stream of people arriving for screen tests. Hundreds of them!”
Phanu continued, “We weren’t told much, just asked to take pictures, sign some papers, and grab some food. After lunch, things got even more serious, with phones being collected and everyone slipping into their costumes. I had a few minor scenes to film, which I managed to get through despite my nerves.”
Then, everything changed.
”Lisa walked in, and my jaw dropped,” Phanu recounted, his words practically vibrating off the screen. “I thought, ‘No way, could that be?’ I whipped off my sunglasses, squinted for a better look… and it hit me. ‘Holy crap, that’s Lisa!'”
Phanu’s excitement is palpable through his keyboard. “My inner scream could have shattered glass! It was unreal. I was starstruck, totally freaking out. Standing right there, in the flesh, was one of the biggest superstars on the planet! I didn’t know what to do with myself, my whole body was shaking.”
”How would you even begin to describe that feeling?” Phanu asked his readers. “It felt like a monumental achievement, like I was witnessing history. Oh my god!!!”
He concluded his post with heartfelt gratitude towards the dedicated crew and, of course, a generous dose of self-appreciation for landing a coveted role in Lisa’s globally-acclaimed music video. “Thank you to everyone involved in this incredible project, and thank you to myself for being a part of something truly special.”
